I created this little beauty as a thank you gift for my friend Cathy in return for some awesome art supplies! I used a recycled wooden wall pannel sample and my new Sepia PITT pens.
The colors didn't scan so well on this one but i had a lot of fun playing with my new watercolor pencils!! Thanks Cathy!

Well, I’ve started a new little hobby! I have these two cheap tables I got a long time ago and I’ve had them covered with tablecloths. Well, since I have allergies and the cloth attracts kitty hair, I decided I’d either have to get rid of the tables or do something different with them. They were too ugly to leave them be without the tablecloths covering them… sooooo I took this atlas I’ve had forever and never really used, stained most of the pages with tea, some darker than others, and some I even used a little bit of watered down acrylic brown paint… to make the maps look old. I crumpled them up, tore them up, and laid them out to dry. When they were dry, I ironed them and used mod podge to slowly but surely cover the tables. I was sure to put cities and countries that have special meaning to me on the top. I let them dry and then put glass on the top... they look great in my apartment!! I love them!! And I'm excited to have found an activity that is fun, creative, productive and relaxing! I am thinking this may lead to more things in my apartment being covered with maps...
I wanted to attempt a Zentangle but was not in a positive state when I set out to try it.

I've recently been taking guitar lessons so when the IF word "Hollow" popped up, a guitar was an easy choice for me. This was first drawn with my black pens and then I tried a new technique- Watercolor!! A special thanks to Pat and Cathy for letting me borrow their supplies and for teaching me the value of letting go of control and perfectionism... I quickly found that when it comes to watercolor, it often has a mind of its own!

Doodled this on a purple post-it at work while I was waiting for my computer to reboot. Decided to try the Illustration Friday thing I've heard so much about. :o)
A co-worker handed out nice little surprises today. 
Went grocery shopping yesterday after work and when I pulled into the parking lot, I noticed this big fat seagull sitting on the top of the car next to me. I very sneakily leaned over and took a picture with my phone through the passenger door window. The girl was completely oblivious to both me and the bird. I would have taken closer photo but he flew off before I could get out of my car. 
I've finally contributed something to the Artfits blog (besides a counter)... check it out here. We had our bi-weekly meeting last night. I feel so inspired!! I can't wait to dive into all the new projects we've dreamed up. I swear there's nothing like brainstorming with that group. One little idea turns into a multimillion dollar corporation haha. I'm so fortunate to be able to spend time with such great artists... and friends!
